rivers form deltas
diverging towards the sea
arteries becoming capillaries
merging landscapes
communion
undoing that which brought them forth
carving stone basin valleys
as we bring to flesh the mineral
from which our cells are formed
furthering the erosion of thought
into the material
for what purpose other than
to say
what my eyes
bore witness to here
changed its essential path
as water shapes earth
as it returns
